Bye Bye Holland, Hello Australia!

G'day Mates,

After 4 months coping with a lot of bad weather but also enjoying quality time with family and friends, we are flying to Kuala Lumpur today and on Sunday we are back in Aussieland.

I worked on a new story but don't have time to finish it, sorry mates, I'll be back as soon as I can.
To not leave you empty handed I herewith give you something to laugh, specially for the Aussies, enjoy;

The Hague, Den Haag ; seat of the Dutch Government

G'day Mates,

Two years ago we've also spent a few days in the Hague which also is the birth place of my hubby Fred, so we have some family there and during the holidays of one of them, we were offered to spent some days in their house. Because the other time I wrote a lot of the city which you can see in my blog here;

http://torn-between-two-lovers.blogspot.nl/2014/08/oh-oh-den-haag.html

I now write a bit more about the area;

With friends we biked to "Hoek van Holland" through the dunes. Hoek van Holland is one of the Ports of which ferries sail to England.

Except for some wind we had great weather and enjoyed our trip very much...

Here you can see the a ferry, waiting to take off in the afternoon....

We brought our lunch and enjoyed sitting at one of the picnic tables.....

Because of the strong wind these kite-surfers having a ball....

After bringing our hired bikes back, we were invited for a great Indian meal.....
(thanks Ann and Karin)

We also spent a day with Fred's brother and because they life close to this nice little spot (Leidschendam), we had a walk over there.....

The town's name has been in use for centuries and refers to the lock in the Vliet, near the historic city of Leiden.

still a lot of yachts sail thru this lock

Movie time

Typical Dutch;

And with nice weather we of course have to drink something, quality time with our brother/in law and sister in law.....

If you know the Netherlands a bit, you also know that Rotterdam (which is one of the biggest Ports of the world) is close to The Hague and I wanted to see this famous Market Hall which opened on October 1, 2014, by Queen Máxima of the Netherlands;

 Besides the large market hall, the complex houses 228 apartments, 4600 m2 retail space, 1600 m2 of food sector and an underground 4-storey parking garage with a capacity of 1200+ cars

Isn't it beautiful.....

The building has an arch-wise structure like a horseshoe and has a glass facade on both sides, these are made up of smaller glass windows.

All yammie stuff.....(but a bit expensive too)

This yellow sign says; "Don't park/stall bikes here", hilarious.....

You haven't been in The Hague if you don't go to Scheveningen, its always lovely going there!

Having a drink at the boulevard especially as the sun came out, we left the house in the morning with rain and in the afternoon it was just lovely....

Simonis is a well known fish restaurant and we decided our stomachs would like a nice meal ........

so we ordered two great dishes, one fish kebab......

and a fish and chips, here in Holland they call small pieces of fish; Kibbeling!

and what is dinner without a nice bottle of wine........

Cheers!

Our House

G'day mates,

If you are a regular reader of my blog you will know that we still have a house in the Netherlands which is for sale. We are doing our utmost to sell it and because we now are in The Netherlands for holidays we took the opportunity to renew the floor and some more little things.

Discussing what to do.....

The best thing to do....

It was a very big and hard job.....

Someone, who can use it, is going to pick it up

 Result, but not finished yet..... Yeeeehhhhh!

My cousin and uncle are the heroes...

As you can understand we are quite busy so I don't have time for a new story.

Because our house is situated near the lovely town Zutphen, I again place a film of Zutphen on my blog so you still have something to watch;

Enjoy

Cheers!
