Broome

G'day Mates,

What can I say about Broome? First of all we were very lucky we got a house sit there otherwise we most probably would only have stayed 1 or 2 days. The reason I already told you in a previous story.

Broome is famous for Cable Beach were you can book Camel Rides;

 But its also a lovely, laid back little town and the centre is called China Town;

Boab Tree

Lovely little church

Broome also has a little old open air cinema;

I sat in one of those chairs, hardly could get out again!

Actually it's more like a museum.....

Broome is also famous for pearls and it happened to be that our house sit was in one of the old pearler houses. Just look how amazing. The kitchen and two rooms; a study and a bedroom en suite were situated in the middle surrounded by a huge veranda.

On the back of the veranda was another bedroom on one side and a bathroom on the other side. The veranda was closed inn by just fly screens so there were no windows.

Well it never gets cold in Broome so you don't need windows actually and we have seen no heating either, just fans.

There was a big garden too where we could stall our caravan. We even had a separate car for taking Jack, the dog we had to look after, to the beach.

Jack!

In the beginning we went every day to the beach but Jack isn't the youngest anymore and he started to limp so we gave him a couple of days off. He just could not stop chasing seagulls.

At one of these days off of Jack, we went to Cable Beach for a swim and a bit of reading, this is what also fascinated me;

Movie time;

Cable beach;

It was also a good time to do some other things like getting the window of the car fixed and Fred seemed to have a broken back tooth which had to come out to. He had a great dentist, if we could have taken her with us, we had done so haha.

We had a very good two weeks and in between Jack's " mammie" spent a few days home before she had to go again. She is a very nice person and we became friends.

We had a nice lunch together at the Port of Broome, where you can also find this view......

So it happened that she came home on a Friday, we could be leaving on Saturday but on Sunday there would be the phenomena "Staircase to the moon" so we waited for that and went there with the three of us.

It was very busy and approx. 6 o'clock so a good chance for the Hotel to put some stalls outside with food....

Staircase to the Moon is a natural phenomenon which occurs when a full moon rises over the exposed tidal flats of Roebuck Bay. The Staircase to the Moon happens 2 - 3 days a month between March and October.

On Monday we left and as always, the good bye's were heavy.

Cheers!

Wet'n Wild

G'day Mates,

One of the icons of Western Australia are the wild flowers in the particular "Wild Flower" season which begins in June in the north, and sweeps down the State to finish with a flurry on the south coast in November,.......

..... and another attraction are the astonishing beaches which are the best in Australia.

So I put these two together in a movie not to be skipped!!

I like to promote Western Australia, though it is very expensive, but because most people go to the East, I just want to say; the West is worth it too!

An impression;

Movie time;

I hope you liked it, cheers!
