A beautiful day near Dunsborough, Ngilgi Cave

G'day Mates,

I just have a little bit time to spend on my blog as it is 25 th of April, Anzac Day and so the boys (hubby and son Danny) are to the march in Perth.

We also get our friends to eat tonight so I spent most of my time in the kitchen, cooking a "Dutch" meal for 6 persons.

Anyhow, here I am and lets go to Dunsborough again, that time still with Sheila......

Here we stopped at Meelup beach, warning for sharks is not unnecessary as they are every where!

A group with carers and lightly disabled people had build some sort of a raft from hollow pipes with a seat on it.....

it really worked......

After Meelup beach we continued our way to the lighthouse on Cape Naturaliste.....

But before that we made a detour to Sugarloaf Rock.....

Here we stopped to have a good look at mother natures treasures.....

Thanks Sheila for the nice picture.....

And then we did our walk from the lighthouse to the Whale Outlook, remember we were there few months ago in the Whale season and we got lost?.......

Never disregard a warning....

All with a good mood.....

We reached the platform ......

and of course we had our lunch with us.....

Enjoying the view we had a very strange experience; while sitting there a black sky appeared left from us and it looked that severe we thought we might have to run for our lives but strangely it just lapsed in front of us to the right and you could see rain coming out over the sea.

Not only was the sight of the mystery amazing but also it went dead quiet and misty with in the distance the silhouette of a few ships......brrrr it felt like a thriller movie.

After this adventure we stopped on our way back at the Ngilgi Cave (previously known us Yallingup Cave)
My hubby doesn't like caves so Sheila and I went with the two of us and I must say, it was amazing!!

The guide leads you to a certain platform and from there you can discover the cave on your own pace and no, you can't get lost.

Crikey no, Sheila didn't faint but we were told, if you lie down on your back with you eyes closed for about a minute, then look up at the ceiling......

... it looks like you are looking on top of a big forest with giant pine trees, or some have the imagination of a big city with skyscrapers. I had the forest view.

The cave is just great, come and have a look......

These pictures are beautiful but you can imagine you never get the same feeling as being there for real.....

If you want to know more about this cave, just go to;

In the Margaret River region are more beautiful caves to visit....

I hope you enjoyed it again, see you soon!

Cheers!

A little holiday in a holiday....

G'day mates!!

You know our daughter Sheila had been on holidays here for two weeks and we were offered to go to Dunsborough for a few days in the lovely holiday house of our friends. Of course we took this opportunity and again had a lovely time in Dunsborough with Sheila.

We wanted to walk that Meelup-Dunsborough coastal trail again with her and I hope you don't mind having a blog about this trail again because it's totally different from the one I made a few weeks ago, I promise!!

We walked from the house to the trail which is already a few k's but it's worth it....

A little side track to look on the beach....

some statues on our way.....

you can't eat this crab, unless you want to ruin your teeth.....

Arriving at  the trail we read the code of conduct and......

with our lunch and drinks in the back pack we went off.....

As you can see I'm not the only photographer on the track ........

which means, that I'm also on a picture so now and then....

What a shame there are always people who spoil the environment.....

I can't get enough from scenes like this......

During a little pause, Fred found out he had a splinter (same word as in Dutch haha!) in his finger...

Nurse Sheila tried to get it out.....

OK, back on the track we passed more beautiful scenes....

OMG....

Lonely beaches, very tempting....

We decided to go as far as Castle rock and because we didn't found a convenient spot to have our lunch......

we decided to go back to the lonely beach....

After a lovely lunch we headed back towards home when we saw this beautiful creature....

When I came a little bit too close, he/she choose to take off, leaving us behind....

Totally exhausted from the long hike we came home and had a lovely, satisfying evening, with lots of music and talks.....

(sorry for the not so clear picture but it shows our mood)

Lots more to come so don't leave me!

Cheers!
