From Hobart to Launceston

G'day Mates,

When our house sit in Hobart was finished we had to get on our way to Caveside; a small area with a few houses between Deloraine and Mole Creek. There we had our second house sit for 4 weeks, looking after three horses and 4 cats.

I forgot to show you a picture in my previous story about the view of the bridge at nighttime....

Between the sits we had a week to travel from Hobart to Caveside so we choose the east coast for our trip and booked some Airbnb's. The scenery again was great and I'm happy to share this with you so lets not waste more time......

Our first Airbnb was in Orford, it was a lovely little apartment were we could cook our own dinner. Put the great view and the coming bad weather together and you get this result......

Happy with the Airbnb....

Our second stop was in Bicheno but on the way we stopped at several spots.
Just some pics of the scenery....

Spiky Bridge near Swansea on the east coast is a quirky feature with convict heritage. It's well known and promoted as an attraction in the region. You could easily miss the turnoff to the car park between Buckland and Bicheno which we prompt did.....

The beautiful Tasmanian beaches on the opposite side of Tasman Highway ....

At the lovely little town Swansea we had our lunch....

Tasmania also has Wineries.......

some with great scenery's...

And then we arrived in Bicheno which also is a great little town....

There is a path along the beach which you can walk and what we did of course.......

A little bit further where you can see the boats is a Fish and Chips shop; The Gulch.....

My God, the best Fish and Chips we ever had!

Movie time....

From Bicheno, where we stayed two night, we did a trip to Coles Bay which is the gateway to the Freycinet National Park. Park of the National Park is Schouten Island, sounds very Dutch doesn't it!

I had to make a picture of this tree which was full with birds trying to get some honey!

At Coles Bay we had our lunch (sorry for all the lunches) again on a very nice spot.....

where this Mantra came along, it's really a pity you can't see on the picture how big is was but is was HUGE!

Still after knowing those big things (and other scary creatures) share the sea with my feet, I went in to make this picture.

Fred stayed safe on the shore.....

Proof

One of Tassie's awful lot winding roads....

Movie time

Just some views.....

An electricity pole with Tasmanian Natives....

From Bicheno we went to Scottsdale where we also had two nights but we had such a bad weather that we had to stay all day inside, luckily again we had a very nice Airbnb, a little cottage and on the TV were the Winter Olympic games so we didn't had to be bored.

Our last stop was Launceston and the biggest attraction in Launceston is Penny Royal and the Cataract Gorge.

Lets begin with Penny Royal which is an adventure park where you can do; Cliff walk, Climbing, Ghost Tour, Boat cruise, gold panning and more....

Worth watching the cruise on the Lagoon with firing of a 24 pound cannon....

Movie time;

I'm so glad we didn't live in those days....

Just outside of Penny Royal you can walk the Cataract Walk to the Cataract Gorge reserve.....

First you walk over the Kings Bridge......

And then walking along the South Esk River you pass lovely scenery's but also......
watch the Movie;

You can take the world's longest single-span chairlift to the other side to take a dive in the great swimming pool....

At the Cataract Gorge reserve is a lovely restaurant in a beautiful setting,

where you also can find many Peacock's.....

we took the bridge to the other side.....

View from the bridge.....

On our way back we saw these people climbing the rocks.....

I can get nightmare's from looking at that!

So folks, this was a very long one, hope you enjoyed it!!
Will get back as soon as I can, till then!

Cheers...
