Simply Holland 3

G'day mates,

We are nearly at the end of the Holland period, as I already said, one more is coming after this one and that will take a while.
Because Zutphen is much worth promoting, I will need some time but I will try to be as quick as possible.

OK lets start this third "Simply Holland" which contents are a divers of things. We did a walk with Fred's brother and sister-in-law near Lochem, which is also near Vorden and we have been to Amsterdam. Both were not enough for an own story so I combine them in this "Simply Holland", besides that there has also been some activities around our "caravan park" which is also interesting to see.

Lets start with the walk;

Long, long time ago my father could get a job as a ranger and this house would be our home, Unfortunately or fortunately, we will never know, my mother didn't like living in the bush so the job was off.

The whole "Ampsen" walk is approx. 9 k's but we walked the shortened one, only 5, but that was long enough for us.

Huis (House) Ampsen.....

Isn't it just gorgeous!! And so green!

Amsterdam, here we come......

Amsterdam is the capital city of and most populous within the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Its status as the Dutch capital is mandated by the Constitution of the Netherlands though it is not the seat of the Dutch government, which is The Hague as you have learned in my "The Hague"story.

The 17th-century canals of Amsterdam and the 19–20th century Defence Line of Amsterdam are on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The Munttoren ("Coin Tower")

Amsterdam is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe, receiving more than 4.63 million international visitors annually, this is excluding the 16 million day trippers visiting the city every year.

Coffeeshops are establishments in the Netherlands where the sale of cannabis for personal consumption by the public is tolerated (in Dutch called gedoogd) by the local authorities.

Under the drug policy of the Netherlands, the sale of cannabis products in small quantities is allowed by 'licensed' coffee shops. The majority of these "coffeeshops" (in Dutch written as one word) also serve drinks and food.

Amsterdam has many cafés (bars). They range from large and modern to small and cosy. The typical Bruine Kroeg (brown café) breathe a more old fashioned atmosphere with dimmed lights, candles, and somewhat older clientele. Most cafés have terraces in summertime.

This is Zutphen by the way...

Dutch people living abroad will be distressed looking at this picture!
Yes Dutchies, look at this; kroketten, frikadellen, gehaktballen etc etc....

I'm going to get that gold now at the end of the rainbow guys, see you soon!

Cheers.
