Hobart, our first house sit and Tassie adventures

G'day Mates,

Yes it took awhile again sorry, but here is the official first Tassie adventure story;

First of all, when we arrived at our house sitting address, we were happily surprised as we knew that we wouldn't be bored at this spot.

an ordinary Sunday brunch.....

The two doggies we were looking after were delightful as well and we had no problems at all.

and my god, they loved each other....

We were opposite Hobart, which can be reach my the bridge you see on the first picture. Hobart lies at the foot of Mount Wellington which is a great attraction because the view from there is stunning, when it is clear! We could look at the mountain and from the two weeks we were there, I think about 90 % we have seen the top in the clouds.....

We were lucky though, come with us to the top, first we have to go over the bridge.....

The Observation Shelter and boardwalk was beautifully made again, as usual, I think it's an Aussie trade mark......

1271 mtr high

Then suddenly the fog came in and it started to drizzle, we had to stay in the Observation shelter for a while because the temperature also dropped a lot to 7 degr. so it was freezing!

It sure was worth going there!

I have to admit that I was very scared going up that mountain and I didn't dare to look, let alone taking pictures or a movie. On the way back I gathered all my courage and........

here is the result;

Movie time....

Another attraction in Hobart is the Salamanca Market, every Saturday it's on and it is huge...

and very busy.....

Dutch???

I bought some nice Honey

These are the only Tasmanian Devils we have seen....

Just a statue in Town near Salamanca Market....

A lot of Tourists of course.......

Also close to the markets is Battery Point, a very nice area with still some good maintained historic houses and buildings....

At the Port of Hobart its always busy, lot of tourists......

Cruise ships were there mostly every day, we even could see them from our balcony...

And hear them as well when they blow the horn on arrival or departure!

Last but not least we did a tour at the Cascade Brewery.....

Hubby brews beer himself and was of course happy to see these big kettles with the nice golden liquid in it.......

and the large production which he never can reach himself of course, but......

this was the best part and I'm sorry Cascade, but no one can beat the Belgium Beers!

Nevertheless, after a few tasting glasses the result was;

Happy Face!

Cheers!

Tassie to be continued.....
