Fun in Perth with Sheila (2)

G'day mates,

Lets continue with the Perth Story;

On the 30th March we did a trip and a lunch to Lake Leschenaultia, which lies in the Mundaring region.

we did a great walk around the lake and afterwards........

of course had our lunch.....

down below you can see the Mundaring Weir and Lake CY O'Connor....

These trees had such a beautiful pattern I had to make a picture of it....

 Here we drove on the ZigZag scenic route, I'm not that quick frightened but this WAS frightening....

Movie time;

Twisting down the Darling Scarp, the Zig Zag Scenic Drive provides a panoramic view across the coastal plain to the City Of Perth.  The Darling Range is about 25km east of Perth, and runs parallel to the coast.

There in the distance is Perth.....

On March the 31 rst, we didn't do much, only some shopping

 and we had a nice lunch

April the 1 rst;

From people we are going to do some house sitting, that I will explain later, we borrowed a bicycle so we could do a beautiful bike ride to Perth...

Movie time;

We came through the Maylands Wetland, saw golf courses, race courses, beautiful houses, great parks.....etc etc.

We biked all along the Swan River....

Jelly fish.....

Useless to mention that Australia has a lot public toilets, I said that already too many time but this is different, just check out this LOO, its great;

Movie time;

Of course we had  lunch with us.....

From where the Swan Bells is on the Esplanade, you can take the ferry to South Perth, there was only room for four bikes and one was already on the ferry and to my surprise that bike also had a cycle bag like the ones only the dutchies have, and Yes, there was a lady sitting near the bike and said; "hey more dutchies"

so we had a little talk together.....

then we drove back to the caravan park which took a while and all together we biked 34 k's and even though we were brought up on the bike, we still had sore bums....

On the second of April we moved for a few day to Fremantle. As I explained earlier coming weekend is Good Friday and Easter after that and I had trouble in finding caravan parks with free sites and so the only one I could book was in Fremantle.......

roll up the awning.....

We packed up our things, Sheila of course had to decamp her tent and all her stuff had to go into the caravan....

Connect the car onto the caravan....

Everything ready???

FREMANTLE HERE WE COME !!

See Ya there !
Cheers...

Perth with Sheila

G'day Mates,

The coming few stories you will find that there are a lot more family shoots then normal but that is of course because we are with our daughter and try to give her a good time and some sightseeing of Perth and the surrounding. I hope you also will enjoy this, I'll promise there is a lot to see .......

OK lets start;

25 March 2015;

We are finally in Perth, very excited and ready for our daughter to come;

We are on a caravan park only 7 k's from the Airport so we could nearly walk to pick her up, of course we didn't ....

She came from Dubai and as you can see she landed at half past 5, a very good time to arrive after a long travel....

after a lot kisses, cuddles and tears its time to ask how the flight was and she said she had a terrific flight....

the dusk is falling and so lets quickly go home to have some bubbles......

then a small dinner......

Aah, I hear you thinking, "where is she going to sleep?" well, here is the answer;
Sheila brought the little tent with her in which her brother Danny also had slept when he was here and travelled with us, now already two years ago.....

but, because we knew she would arrive in the afternoon and it would be dark by the time we came home, Fred made from the spot were our seats and table is, a bed, so the first night was all prepared...

After a good sleep (I hope), she mailed the loved ones who stayed behind that she had arrived and all was OK....

Also we put up the tent which will be her little own room for the two weeks she is here.

An now just waiting for things to come.....

The first day we did the Swan Valley food and wine trail;  a 32 k's scenic drive trail taking in more than 150 attractions including wineries, lively breweries, fine restaurants and bustling cafes, distilleries, arts, crafts and markets, accommodation outlets  and venues that sell just picked fresh produce.....

The first one we visited was the Ironbark Brewery, of course we had to try one of the beers and Sheila had a cider......

because you can't keep on drinking, you have to visit something else so now and then.....
Here you could taste olive oil, pickles, dressings, chocolate and lots more....

nice chutneys.....

A cork made out of cork

Next Vineyard .....hips  hips .....

I always love to see these big barrels but I love the content more.....

In between we visited more things like nougat, nuts and lollies stores but here we came to an end of our tour with a little bite and a nice glass of wine.....

March 28....

Its lovely weather and so we decided to go to the beach......

Cottesloe Beach

 naturally Sheila not only wanted to have a great holiday with some anti stress periods, whereas the beach is a magnificent place for that, but a little healthy colour would be a very welcome thing too...

Earlier that day there had been a sandcastle competition......

Unfortunately when you fall asleep in the sun, there will be no healthy colour but more a crayfish look-alike....

March 29 Scarborough Beach;

Beach again, too nice and too hot for long trips in the car, besides that.....

There is so much to talk about when you haven't seen each other for a long time....

and also just to be together is a gift.....

Nearly time to go home and have a nice dinner......

Our Baby Q  BBQ is just big enough for 3 T-bone steaks.....

Good night, see ya soon......

Cheers!
