The last days with our little house on wheels!

G'day Mates,

As you read the title you can imagine this is very hard for me to write but I have no choice, its a fact. Anyway, we are glad with our house in the Netherlands and that's what we have to think about.

You know, I think the thing we will miss the most will be the time in the bush, for different reasons as Hubby will miss just being there, surrounded by wildlife, birds etc, relaxing and reading books, I will miss the hard work; digging for gold and more..... finding it!!!

Having said this, we of course still wanted to do that one more time so from Caboolture we drove to Bony Mountain which is close to Talgai and Durikai State Forest. I know I said in my last story we went to Beachmere but that was after Bony Mountain. We stayed on a sports ground and that was a great spot!

As you can see it was pretty cool there, one night we had 5 degrees below zero, luckily we had an electric blanket brrrrr. There was a big layer of ice on our grey water bucket.

During the day the weather was fine, kangaroos every where ....

One day our friend Warren came to go prospecting together, that was very nice, we just didn't have much luck!

No pictures of me digging this time, you have seen enough of them! This is a different story! Hubby decided to take advantage of the spare time in the bush to already take out the UHF radio as we wanted to sell it, so he started to do that and was hanging half in and out of the car when the car decided to complain and drove off. Most probably he must have touched the gear lever.

I was about 100 meter away doing my thing when I heard a bang which sounded like a gunshot. I looked around and then towards the car and saw Hubby walking somewhere near it so I didn't thing any of it. When my batteries where flat I walked back to the car to get new ones and saw that it wasn't at the same spot and asked Hubby why he moved it. He said; "I didn't, he moved himself!"

Then I saw some small trees flat on the ground, half torn and the car parked against a bigger tree.

Luckily it could still drive but much more important, when I heard the story what happened, is that Fred (hubby) could just get his legs away from underneath the car otherwise the back wheels would have drove over them!

My God!!

OK, lets go to something nicer! Beachmere!
Beachmere is a small lovely town on the way to Bribie Island. Unfortunately there is not much of a beach but for that you can go to Bribie Island which we have done a few times....

We also had a nice lunch in Sandstone at Spinnaker seafood market, just before the bridge...

Fish and Chips , Jammie...

The Caravan Park was great and fully packed.....

On the 20th of August we celebrated our ownership of the house in the Netherlands, we went to the Beachmere Hotel for a great, literal, meal....

Hubby decided to order the special

Of course it was much to much so we've got a doggiebag.....

A lovely drink on a nice spot before we continue our travel, one last few days on a very special place......

Paradise Country Farmstay!! A must do, specially when you have kids!

Look at the view we had on our great site....

Broken wheel bearing, happened approx. 20 k's before we arrived at the park, these last k's we nearly crept along the road, much to the nuisance of our fellow road users.

Now lets go to the park!!!!

This is what you can all do....

Milking Cows....

no, no, we didn't do that much!

Feeding sheep....

Demonstration of making Billy Tea and Damper

and tasting it....

a competition......
