Mixed emotions

Sorry again it took so long but in the mean time we have traveled a lot and were most of the time out of reach.

Despite all my work and effort on the World Solar Challenge blog I only got a twitter from a guy from the Nuon Team we had met in Darwin with which I was very pleased of course, but further not even one little comment was made, just wonder if this Challenge is not popular in Holland or in the rest of the world?

But I have to go on so here is a short one from Darwin, I already had said it's just another city so we didn't do much. We were in a caravan park approx. 25 k's out of the CBD and we loved that caravan park.

The first day Fred and I went to the toilet just before it was getting dark, our neighbor warned us to take a torch next time as there were snakes in the park. Next morning I heard a shout and another male neighbor was jumping around with a broom in his hand screaming a snake peeped into his annex, and the snake itself was so scared he hurried himself into a tree. It was a Golden Tree snake and fortunately harmless. Its not very clear but just look how beautiful he is;

We have also been to the famous Mindil Beach markets on a Sunday evening, very nice and big market;

AND........we have been to a museum, HA YES, you know we are not museum people but this one was very small and had to do with Fred's former profession; Jail!!  (he was at the right side of the doors)

Fannie Bay Goal;

This time he is on the wrong side haha.....

Most times when Fred see something about jails, he has nightmares.....

Look at how narrow these door are, I nearly got a nightmare at daylight seeing this haha, a lot people nowadays won't fit through.....

Nice to read the story on the sign....

The last executions in Darwin were held at Fannie Bay Goal in 1952, when Jerry Coci and Jonus Novotny, Czechoslovakian immigrants (other sources say they were Romanian, I don't know who's right), were hanged for the murder of a local taxi driver; George Grantham.

This execution room was actually the most interesting room but unfortunately the battery of my camera went flat so I don't have a picture of that myself, I took one off the internet!

Just some daily things;

This is what you get when you live in a small caravan haha......

After my cooking........

Something else;

Very often you meet new people on caravan parks, have some drinks, talks, exchanging experiences etc, but some times you meet people you have more feelings with and become friends. In Darwin we had such couple and due to sad circumstances we didn't got to the "have a drink together regularly" point. I don't want to give names but the lady involved didn't feel well and had to go to the doctors which she had postponed too long. Her husband and I had talked in to her to go.
Eventually she went through all the scans, tests etc. and the prognoses doesn't look good. I'm so very sad that we were not in the position to stay longer and support them. In the mean time they also lost their much loved little doggy, although he was 17 ½ years old, its always very sad to have to miss the one you love so much.

We hope and pray we will catch up on each other some sunny day.

Good luck love! We wish you all the best! We keep in touch hey!

    Mooi geel slangetje maar zou me suf schrikken. Leef elke dag met jullie mee maar nu even extra......Hou me op de hoogte please!
