New Zealand 2, stunning again and lovely Airbnb's

G'day Mates,

At the present we are busy with our last days in Australia. Another few days and we step onto the plane to Hong Kong for a stopover and then further to our new adventure in the Netherlands.

But because I'm not ready yet with New Zealand, I have to hurry up before I won't have time anymore, so lets start.....

Dunedin is the next place we stayed, this trip from Twizel to Dunedin was very nice again but unfortunately the weather wasn't too good....

It's hard to see but they were very close to the edge!

Port Chalmers, just a few k's from Dunedin

In Dunedin we had this lovely Airbnb.....

With a cosy room and a very comfortable bed...

With a great view....

Unfortunately we didn't had much time in Dunedin but we had a walk a bit in the centre, did some shopping en also went to the steepest street of the world.....

I always thought the steepest street was in San Francisco but no, it's this one....

Then we went from Dunedin to Manapouri,

very nice area and a lot looking like Ireland....

Again the weather wasn't brilliant....

Coming to Manapouri we faced a very lovely Airbnb.....

Very basic inside, no power!! Only gas to cook on.....

And a stove, wood was provided as well.

Lovely veranda to have a meal on.....

And again a great view....

Next day we did a little trip, we had our wedding anniversary and we had a box filled with ice and drinks and of course a bottle with bubbles waiting for us when we get home, but first.....

We went towards Milford Sound, didn't want to go the whole way there as there was a big chance that you couldn't see much because of the weather.....

But on the way was already enough to do and to see.....

These are the Mirror lakes, according to the name it should be like a mirror but not when there is wind. Loads of tourists in busses were there, luckily I had the change to make pictures without any people .....

The Waiau River....

We walked the "Lake Mistletoe walking track".....

There really were a lot Mistletoe's

When "home", we opened the bubbles and had some nice fish snacks with it.....

Enjoying the lovely view.....

The sun is nearly gone and its nearly time to go to bed......

Good night

Cheers!
Still hope to see you soon, I'm afraid though that it still will take some time as the next one I will write from my sisters place in The Netherlands....

How amazing is new Zealand.....?

G'day Mates!

How Amazing is New Zealand?  From what we have seen very amazing! This story is only from our first 2 days and I have soo much to show you!

We flew from the Gold Coast, Coolangatta to Christchurch which was very convenient as it is only approx. 20 km from my Aunts home so she could bring us and we could leave all our stuff there. We arrived at 22.30, picked up our hired car and went to the booked hotel in Christchurch. Because it was dark we couldn't see how damaged the town was from the earthquake but we saw gaps were once buildings had been.

Next day we just did some shopping and we didn't stay in Christchurch as we will be having a house sit there later so we can explore that then.

On our way to Twizle. I booked a lovely little cabin for 2 nights so we can go to Mount Cook the next day. The weather wasn't too good but still we passed spots worth taking a picture...

This is the route we are driving....

Our little car

We passed lake Tekapo which is famous for the million stars you can see at night, WHEN it is a clear sky of course.....

The water was really that blue, I didn't photo-shop anything !

Our little cabin, we cooked our dinner in the camp kitchen...

Next day we drove to Mount Cook, again the way driving there was just stunning....

Driving along Lake Pukaki

This day we had great weather. When coming at the car park it was packed with tourists and it was hard to find a parking spot. Luckily we had a small car so we succeeded after driving around for a few minutes...

And then we started the Hooker Valley Track walk.....

Unfortunately the walk was 3 hours so we didn't finish it but I think we have seen the most beautiful part.

After that walk we decided to do the Tasman Glacier View track which is another hour return...

They don't warn you for this walk as it is very steep with very many steps, we were exhausted when we reached the top but.......

it was worth it!

In the distance you can see the glacier, because it's thousands of years old the surface is black.....

but when you zoom in, you can see it's really ice.....

its just stunning......

After we both had a bit of a rest, we walked all the steps back down.....

Back to Twizel and looking back at Mount Cook, we had a terrific day....

See ya next time guys!

Cheers!
