World Cup soccer !!

Actually I was struggling with a story about "good old England ", you know, the mini cruise we did to Newcastle. Struggling because there are a lot movies in it again and that takes some time, which unfortunately, I have very little of lately.
Anyhow I'm halfway so no worries mates, it will come!

For now I have something shorter but very important and that's the "Fifa World Cup" soccer. "We" survived the first round and have to play to Mexico on Sunday and "we" didn't survive and had to go home.

Confusing isn't it?? Well my fans know; one of our half is Aussie and every one knows they didn't survive. The other half, the Orange one, is still in it and because we are on holidays in the Netherlands, we of course are very very happy to participate and enjoy all these festivities around the cup.

Everyone is supporting the Orange Lions so we have to decorate our caravans...

Movie time....

and ourselves.....

After the match its dinner time and you can see our big smiles.......(means we won)

The next match we watched was at my sisters.......

The time before the match always is very exciting and as you can see, we are also supporting Australia!

waiting with some snacks for the match to come....

but not only us are the lunatics, the whole Nation is bonkers.....

a few streets in The Hague

Last but not least a street in Scheveningen, movie time!!

This Sunday (tomorrow) we have to play against Mexico so fingers crossed!

I hope all this decoration will stay for a long time because I 'm longing for the PARTY TIME!!

Cheers!

(when I don't get back in two weeks, WE WON THE CUP, so beforehand I apologize for my absence haha)

Wild West

G'day mates, watch out for this violent story haha!!

When we still lived in the Netherlands, Fred was a member of a shooting club. Not just a shooting club but a black powder club which means that they shoot with ancient guns, riffles, revolvers, pistols etc.

Once a year that club organises a Western Weekend and when we are in the Netherlands for holidays, Fred always helps out for three days.
The festivity is always held on a long weekend after "hemelvaartsdag", which is a national holiday on the Thursday 40 days after Easter.

As the name already assumes it is a real Wild West happening. It's not only the shooting but also an outdoor adventure. Welcome to the Trappers Camp ....

a trophy.......you better be careful!

Need a hat??

Cowboys, cowgirls, trappers as well as Indians and so on, all live together in peace on a campground. They don't shoot at each other but on targets on cards haha.
Also the booze has a big deal in it but all in a good harmony.

Nice brekkie.....

Now the shooting part is coming, 50 meter shooting with riffles.......
Between the shoots they have to load again, you've seen this in old movies, so it takes some time...

One of the competitions is duel shooting, watch the movie, its very interesting....

Movie;

Interesting hey!!

But they also shoot with canons;

Loading......

set......

BANG!!!

Everything has been monitored by the deputy and it all went OK!

I hope you liked it guys.

See you next time, cheers!!

Bike Riding

G’day mates,

Yeeehhhh!! Finally!! I did it, I managed to make two movies so come on and have a look;

From previous stories you know that we love Belgium Beer!! Arch, we are here now a while and I can tell you, we have been drinking a lot already. You know what the consequences are?  I look like I’m already 8 months pregnant but if you look at my face you know it can’t be true..... too old haha!
The only solution is this; Bike riding…...

I love bike riding in Holland as I already told you you don’t have to weir a helmet and the whole country is used to bikers so its pretty save. There are several ways to find your way through the country and my favourite is “het knooppunten stelsel” I will explain;  you buy a map from the region you want to bike in and you can make you own route by following the figures in the circles.

Here you can see we are at circle (knooppunt) 60.....

Just write down the figures on a piece of paper, stick it on your handlebar and just bike form one figure to the other. Between two circles is the distance mentioned so you can make your route as long as you want.

You come at the nicest places, I lived in this region for 44 years and now come at spots I never knew they were there. Look at this nice little farm with homemade Marmalade and Honey.....

 horses come by.......

typical dutch houses with thatched roofs......

also typical dutch; Windmills

another one......

just keep on biking.....
(movie)

Then we pass another nice little farm, look how old it is.....

a totally different house......

we keep on biking until this intersection were we can choose from 5 roads (and a track), of course I knew which figure we had to follow.....

(movie)

and we pass castles.......

and nice little towns with beautiful alleys.....

but also very old barns.....

and nice rivers.........

So, that's it for now mates, I hope you enjoyed these typical dutch views but of course this is not all you get to see from Holland, there is much more to tell and see so hang on in there.....

See ya next time.

Cheers!
